Case "Centar": Usman-Ali Maqsood Ahmed pleads guilty

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After an indictment was filed by the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, the accused entered into a plea agreement.

A prison sentence was proposed as the main penalty, along with a subsidiary fine.

The accused Usman-Ali Maqsood Ahmed, also known as “Ali”, born in 1993 in Pakistan, a citizen of Pakistan, currently in custody, in the presence of his lawyer, has pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of organizing a group or association for the commission of the criminal offense of migrant smuggling in connection with the criminal offense of human smuggling under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For the accused, in accordance with the plea agreement, a prison sentence of two years has been proposed, along with a subsidiary fine in the amount of 7,728 BAM, as well as the confiscation of items used in the commission of the criminal offense, including a mobile phone with its corresponding SIM card.

The proposed sanction is consistent with the role and responsibility of the accused in the commission of the said criminal offense. The plea agreement has been submitted to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
