Detention proposed for woman who attacked police officer in Sarajevo

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo has proposed to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo to order a one-month detention for Merzemana Nukić, suspected of attacking an official person while performing security duties.

The attack occurred in front of the Novo Sarajevo Police Station building, when the woman attacked a police officer with a knife during apprehension, causing him an injury to the left upper arm.

After the attack, she attempted to flee, but the injured police officer caught up with her and apprehended her at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton's Unit for Securing Facilities and Detaining Arrested Persons.

Eyewitnesses claim that the scene where the dramatic apprehension and attack unfolded was completely bloody, and that, at first glance, it appeared the police officer was more seriously injured. However, minor injuries were determined.
