Detention proposed for two Turkish citizens for migrant smuggling

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - As part of the activities of the BiH Border Police, and in coordination with the duty prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, two citizens of the Republic of Turkey were discovered and deprived of liberty in the area of Posušje while attempting to smuggle eight migrants of Afro-Asian origin.

The suspects were brought before the acting prosecutor, who, after questioning, submitted a proposal to impose a detention measure under Article 132, Paragraph 1, Point a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, namely due to the risk of the suspects fleeing.

The found illegal migrants, according to the collected evidence and their statements, come from the areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and have been handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Service for Alien Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
