Detention proposed for 28-year-old pedophile from Bosanski Novi

 

Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor's Office proposed detention measures for S.D. /28/ from Bosanski Novi, suspected of sexual abuse of a child, the prosecutor's office announced, reports the Patria News Agency.

The suspect committed sexual abuse from June to November against a thirteen-year-old minor.

The prosecutor proposed detention measures due to fears that the suspect would obstruct criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses and due to extraordinary circumstances, as this is a criminal offense punishable by ten years imprisonment or more, which is particularly serious considering the manner of execution or the consequences of the criminal offense.

The release of the suspect would result in a real threat of disturbing public order – public unrest.

The judge for preliminary proceedings of the Basic Court in Bosanski Novi will decide on the proposal for determining the detention measure, ATV reports.
