...or, they are attacking us, and we are defending ourselves.
Why are we so often and so gladly reminded of the war and returned to it, twenty-five years after the cessation of armed conflict, killing and dying, all that which – doing injustice to beasts – we call atrocities, because beasts – even the hungriest – do not do to their prey what well-fed people are willing to do to each other in the name of an idea? Is it about trauma that can only be healed by confrontation, or is it the ultimate argument, the mention of which ends all discussions? When does war actually end, and peace begin?
Obviously, not when the weapons and tools cease to function. Does the fact that those who did not participate in the war, or at least not directly, are the ones who most often and gladly mention it, lead us to an answer? They gladly and often deal with the war... Most likely because they did not participate in it, but they have turned armies that did into mass people's liberation movements, whose war and post-war profiteers – after they have plundered everything that is not tied to the sky – spend their free time producing electronic waste (turning new cameras into unusable items)... such people do not regret any budget to pay all those who are willing to fight and beat for them, to change any law needed so that their loyalists are not held accountable for anything, to ensure that no one is ever even accused, let alone convicted of profiteering (God willing, that will also expire) and every dead person is more important to them than all the living...
Admittedly, these are the same people who are convinced that they have an inalienable right to dispose of the destinies and lives of thousands of people and are accountable to no one for it. It seems to me that I will never get an answer as to how and why you allowed yourselves to be drawn into a "politics" that does not concern you in any way? Does anyone among normal people truly believe that their situation can improve if their neighbor is doing poorly? Do you really not see that they have ruthlessly and brazenly dragged you into a game of threats, blackmail, and fear... by not forming this or that level of government, a wicked game that concerns no one and nothing but them...
For God's sake, our government is the government that concerns us at the municipal level (even if they are ten and a hundred times less valuable than the Centar municipality in Sarajevo)... our houses are there, our roads, our potential jobs... our lives and deaths are there. The House of Peoples, the Council of Whatever... in no way decides anything that concerns us and our lives...
Through a perfidious and malicious game, inverted logic, playing with emotions, national and, especially, religious feelings, they have ensured that parties become a kind of dogma, an unquestionable, sinless, and infallible property led by an equally unquestionable, sinless, and infallible leader with divine authority, which religious communities used to provide them – and recently, they can do without it... so that the aforementioned naive, nationalistically bewildered and (in)secure individuals, but by no means innocent, once correctly characterized (as) "blećci"... can be drawn into the "political story"... while at the same time ensuring a sufficient number of quasi-authoritative head-shakers who silently lament the fate of the people if the party does not win...
And again, fear!
One does not need to be a political genius, or even a "professional political analyst," to conclude that behind all this more than obvious absurdity of everything, anything, and everyone, lies only a terrifyingly impolite and frighteningly dehumanized, almost atavistic fear of losing what has been acquired and gained.
Republika Srpska will exist only as long as there is something in it that can be plundered, from which something can be taken, which can be peeled and gnawed away. The same applies to the Federation of BiH. The moment the material interest disappears, so will the interest in peoples, nations, and vital national interests, in the protection of all Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, the current actors of the ethno-nationalist play, the puppeteers and puppets, the bad actors and makeup artists will leave the stage, the curtain will fall on a historical period, long, miserable, and shameful, and from the audience, not even a lonely, drawn-out, ironic applause from the last viewer will be heard...
The final scenes of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian chauvinistic farce will have no audience willing to react in any way, nor will there be paid applauders because they will no longer have the means to buy and pay them.
A seemingly small digression... I would like to know if the residents of Poljine pay for electricity, water, RTV subscription... so they don't buy bread, at least some of them, but "have lunch at the Presidency"... we have already heard that, and therefore, it is understandable that they have no idea that their "businessmen of the year" build their honorary titles with the hands of women at cash registers who can only have a day off if they arrange with a colleague to cover for each other.
Just as they do not know that the employees of their biggest financier, the bey, the hajji, the builder of the mosque... cannot leave work for Friday prayers... not even to his mosque! Of course, they don't know because it's not true, because no court has confirmed it. A court...
