Preda: With this level of corruption, BiH cannot join the EU

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Member of the European Parliament and rapporteur for BiH Cristian Dan Preda stated today in Banja Luka that with "this level of corruption, Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot join the EU, nor can it join with media that are not free, nor with governments that are not at the service of citizens."

Preda is participating in the work of the international ministerial conference on the topic of European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries of the region, organized in Banja Luka by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The rapporteur for BiH told reporters that if BiH fulfills the conditions, it can become an EU member in 2025, or perhaps even sooner, but before that, it must resolve corruption.

Preda emphasized that there is now a clear opportunity for the Western Balkan countries when it comes to European integration, and that this opportunity also applies to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
