Two Sessions Before State Deputies, "European Laws" on the Agenda

(Patria) - The 15th extraordinary and 25th regular session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH have been scheduled for today in Sarajevo.

The extraordinary session, starting at 10:00 AM, will consider two "European" laws - on border control and on the protection of personal data in BiH.

The Council of Ministers of BiH sent the Bill on Border Control for consideration under an urgent procedure, while the Bill on the Protection of Personal Data was sent for consideration under an abbreviated procedure.

As previously stated by the Council of Ministers of BiH, by supporting these laws, which are key priorities on BiH's European path and bear the designation "EI" - confirming their adequate alignment with the EU acquis communautaire, the Council of Ministers of BiH has taken relevant steps to obtain a date for the opening of negotiations between BiH and the EU.

The extraordinary session of the House of Representatives, where these two laws were to be considered, was originally scheduled for January 16, but its holding was postponed until today.

After the conclusion of the extraordinary session, a regular session is planned, which should begin with deputies asking questions to which members of the Council of Ministers of BiH will respond orally during the session.

After that, the agenda should be determined, and among the planned items is the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Parliamentary Oversight, proposed by deputies Jasmin Emrić, Zlatan Begić, Elvisa Hodžić, and Šemsudin Mehmedović, with a request for consideration under an urgent procedure.

Deputies should, in the second round of voting, decide on the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, proposed by deputy Denis Zvizdić, and on the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in BiH, proposed by deputy Mia Karamehić-Abazović.

At the previous session, the aforementioned two laws did not receive the necessary entity majority of votes, so they were sent to the Collegium for harmonization, which failed to reach an agreement, so the deputies will vote on them again.

Among other things, several reports will be before the deputies, including the Reports of the Office for Audit of Institutions of BiH on the financial audit of institutions of BiH for 2023.

The agenda should also include, among other things, information on the situation in the area of migration in BiH for the first six months of 2024, as well as a number of deputies' initiatives.

A vote should also be held on including the initiative to dismiss the Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić, who is in custody, on the agenda.
