Is the US Embassy justifying itself to Milorad Dodik!?

(Patria) - The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that it is clear to everyone why Željka Cvijanović, Milorad Dodik, Radovan Višković, and Miloš Bukejlović were sanctioned, regardless of what they claim.

Namely, they commented on Twitter after Milorad Dodik stated today that the US is pursuing anti-Serb policies. The US Embassy's reaction seems like a form of justification in the face of Dodik's claims!?

"Mr. Dodik and company can invent fairy tales and conspiracy theories that he and his associates are victims of some imaginary anti-Serb policy, but the truth is that the United States Government sanctioned these individuals because their actions threatened the stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH, not because of their ethnic affiliation," the Embassy stated.

They emphasized that the claims that the sanctions are anti-Serb because some of the sanctioned individuals are Serbs are absurd.

"It ignores the fact that one of the sanctioned individuals is a Croat, not a Serb, and arrogantly presents the other individuals as avatars of the Serb people. They are not. They are individuals and are solely responsible for their actions, as well as for bearing the consequences of those actions, just like Osman Mehmedagić Osmica and Marinko Čavara," the post reads.

They add that the United States has closely cooperated with and assisted people across Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Republika Srpska, for many years, investing hundreds of millions of dollars to support them and their aspirations to live in a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous country that offers them, their children, and their grandchildren opportunities to thrive.

"The actions of four irresponsible politicians do not and will not change the United States' commitment to these common goals," the post concluded.
