Follow warnings, heavy rainfall triggers red weather alert

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina it will be cloudy with rain, reports the Patria News Agency. 

- In Bosnia, between 10 and 30 liters of precipitation per square meter are expected, and in central and western areas locally up to 50 liters. In Herzegovina, between 40 and 80 liters are expected, locally up to 100 liters of rain per square meter. Wind is weak from the south and southeast. The lowest morning air temperature is between 2 and 7 °C, in the south of Herzegovina from 6 to 10 °C. The highest daily air temperature is between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius - according to the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute.

Due to heavy rainfall, a red weather alert has been issued, and citizens are warned to behave in accordance with the recommendations. 

- The weather is extremely dangerous. An extremely intense meteorological event is forecast. Significant damage and accidents are possible over a large area and in most cases pose a risk to life. Inform yourself frequently about expected meteorological conditions and risks. Follow the orders and advice given by your state authorities under all circumstances and be prepared for extraordinary measures - the Institute's website states.

Gloomy weather accompanied by precipitation causes unfavorable biometeorological conditions, which will cause difficulties for sensitive individuals such as headaches, irritability, and lack of concentration, and sleep problems at night. Chronic patients should reduce their activities, and we suggest more cautious driving for road users.
