Praštalo: Bosnia and Herzegovina's European year has failed, others will not solve our problems

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The President of the European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Predrag Praštalo, believes that 2021 is another failed European year for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that no progress has been made.

- I think it is difficult to repeat such a bad year. But knowing the domestic BiH politicians and their inability to reach a compromise, perhaps next year, 2022, will continue in the same vein – stated Praštalo.

He says he hopes that some progress can be expected through the pressure of the international community, primarily the United States, as was the case with the elections in Mostar.

Praštalo believes that this was “the only bright spot in 2020“.

- I hope that this is perhaps one of the possible formulas for progress in the European integration process, that, as in Mostar, an agreement is reached between political parties. Without an agreement between political parties, no matter how much our partners from the US, the European Union, and the region try to help us, it is impossible to achieve anything – said Praštalo.

According to him, it is crucial to achieve domestic dialogue.

He added that the international community will not solve Bosnia and Herzegovina's problems. That is the obligation and duty of its politicians whom the citizens have elected – concluded Praštalo.
