Known names of six candidates for the president of the Social Democratic Party of BiH

After the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, at its last session, made a Decision on holding elections for the president of SDP BiH, members had seven days to express their intention to run, reports the Patria News Agency.

- At the session of the Central Election Commission of SDP BiH held this morning, it was stated that six members of SDP have, in the manner prescribed by the Rulebook, expressed their intention to be a presidential candidate.

These are Nermin Nikšić, Jasmin Imamović, Svetozar Pudarić, Emir Đikić, Miro Lazović, and Igor Vreta. Starting today, a 15-day period begins within which all those who have expressed their intention to gain the status of a presidential candidate must collect 1,000 signatures of support from members.

After that, the SDP Election Commission will propose to the Main Board to confirm those who have met all the conditions as presidential candidates. This session of the Main Board will be held on the last weekend of August, and from then on, the intra-party election campaign will officially begin.

The elections for the president of SDP will be held on September 20, and for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, all party members will participate in the election of one party leader - said Saša Magazinović, president of the Central Election Commission of SDP BiH.
