Call for Primary Schools to Submit Good Practice Projects in Education

The Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina invites all primary schools to submit good practice projects in education by March 15, reports the Patria news agency. 

-With this call, the Open Society Fund wants to encourage educators and students to submit projects they have developed and are implementing in their communities, which make small but significant steps forward in improving the quality of the educational process, and as such, they would like to recommend them to colleagues from other communities, points out Dobrila Govedarica, director of the Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Open Society Fund advocates that every child has the right to quality education based on the principles of responsibility, equality, and respect for human rights and democratic values. Accordingly, schools can submit projects that:

Promote pluralism and social justice; Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and research in children; Affirm and use different teaching processes and resources; Demonstrate effective inclusion of parents in the teaching process and decision-making in school; Remove barriers that prevent any group of students from achieving their full educational potential; Encourage cooperation between local communities and schools; Encourage students to develop competencies and life skills necessary for continuing education, civic and social engagement.

The call for project submissions remains open until March 15, 2015. After that, an expert committee will select ten best examples that will be presented to the public, and the Fund will award them grants in the amount of 13,400 USD.
