Call to BiH institutions to prevent the appointment of a Hungarian general as EUFOR commander

(Patria) - It is now clear to the vast majority of the public that the intention to collapse the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is entering the final offensive phase of certain diplomatic, political, regional, and international actors. However, equally, the determination and clearer profiling of civic political will and awareness of the need for active resistance are growing, announced the Circle 99.

"The necessity of an alliance of state-building political subjects on the platform of preserving the democratic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is becoming increasingly evident. The border regions of the homeland have generational experiences and an unquestionable sensibility for timely prevention of dangerous challenges facing their regions and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina itself.

Despite all the constructions of defeatism and targeted political-propaganda actions against Bosnia and Herzegovina, state-building self-awareness and determination are simultaneously growing and strengthening. The course of history will inevitably reject, or sideline, all those who remain outside this process of building a state-building Bosnian national self-awareness.

Security is the most important political issue in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Minimizing such a stance in the current circumstances and shifting the emphasis to the economy or other issues is mere political demagoguery by the irresponsible in the face of growing dangers, or manipulative public confusion caused by malicious actors.

The political pathology of Zoran Milanović and Milorad Dodik, followers and visible protectors of convicted joint criminal enterprises against Bosnia and Herzegovina, is evident to every person who values morality and responsibility for the state and social progress.

Their open glorification and personal identification with Karadžić and Mladić, as well as with other UZP henchmen who committed crimes against people and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are clear evidence of this.

It is true that this pathogenic clique will be condemned to historical defeat, but it is equally true that the seductive rhetoric of neo-fascism still preys on the lowest passions of the masses and produces the power of the callous, insensitive to the death and suffering of innocents. Finally, illusions that the old expansionist and current naked territorial pretensions of Serbia and Croatia towards Bosnia and Herzegovina will be stopped by mere deals or "sweet" compromises at the expense of the right to free development of the state, following the example of all democratic and prosperous nations in the world, must be rejected.

The political system based on the liberal democratic principle of "one man, one vote" is not an Islamist deception, but a proven Western-democratic standard and an indisputable right to equality and political equality for every person. Hegemonic rhetorical embellishments and political projects aimed at preserving ethnic dominance and abolishing the rights of the Bosnian nation as a community of all its citizens, regardless of ethnic/national, religious, territorial, and other multi-layered identities, must be exposed and immediately rejected in the name of peace and security in this part of the world.

It should be clearly pointed out that illiberal and autocratic regimes in the region and its wider surroundings have their counterparts and allies in the Balkans and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their obsession with the project of a new world order, based on ethno-nationalism and autocracy, poses a threat to world peace, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through open support for actors undermining the existing constitutional order and the permanent division of the country.

The encouragement that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán gives to Milorad Dodik in his separatist intentions, as well as Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó's pressure on the judicial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and support for Dragan Čović, in order to amend the Election Law of BiH on "Christian principles" while preserving discrimination arising from the ethnic concept, are sufficient reasons for an adequate response from the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Specifically, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina have a clear political basis to request from the competent institutions of the European Union to prevent the appointment of Hungarian General László Szőcs as the new commander of the EUFOR mission in BiH.

The experience with the separation forces of "conflicting parties" which created the borders of division of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the past war is a sufficient basis for adequate caution and timely action.

The support of Hungarian top officials for the separatist intentions of Milorad Dodik, including his protection from possible and desirable European Union sanctions, as well as the latest information about Hungary's influence and behind-the-scenes engagement in forming government in Bosnia and Herzegovina on ethnic grounds, are quite sufficient indicators that under no circumstances should the appointment of Hungarian generals as commander of the EUFOR/Althea mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina be allowed, as it could be extremely dangerous for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
