Call to mark January 9th as the Day of the Start of Genocidal Aggression on BiH

The marking of January ninth as the Day of the Republika Srpska entity is the result of anti-state and illegal, anti-civilizational actions of the great-nationalist Serbian political option which in the past was instigated by the regime of indicted war criminal Slobodan Milošević, and today continues with the current political establishment of the Republic of Serbia and the Republika Srpska entity, it was stated in an open call to mark January 9th as the Day of the Start of Genocidal Aggression on BiH.

"On January ninth, 1992, a group of great-nationalist, Serbian deputies of the Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contrary to the Constitution, declared the creation of an illegal and unrecognized para-state which declared itself an integral part of Greater Serbia.

Through verdicts of the highest world courts and in numerous relevant scientific works, it has been proven and established that January ninth can only be linked to criminal activities, namely the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the attempt to create Greater Serbia, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. It is one of the darkest dates in Bosnian-Herzegovinian and European history.

We understand January ninth as the beginning of open non-recognition of the state authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Republika Srpska entity is not the result of Serbian desire for freedom but of the Greater Serbian project led by the indicted war criminal Slobodan Milošević. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made a decision declaring the Law on Holidays of Republika Srpska unconstitutional. Disrespecting the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a direct attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also on the European Union, the United Nations, and the international order, as well as peace and security in the world.

Considering that the marking of January ninth in the Republika Srpska entity continuously continues, thereby continuously undermining the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we call on all organizations and communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora to mark this date as the beginning of aggression and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By massively marking January ninth as the day of the start of aggression and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, let us send a clear message to the anti-Bosnian coalition that we know the historical and legal facts about that shameful date. Let us demand concrete action from the pro-Bosnian coalition and especially from the international community to punish all those who, by marking this date as the day of the Republika Srpska entity, are directly acting not only against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina but also against peace and security in the world, against the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations," stated the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada
