Husein ef. Hodžić, symbol of Bosniak return to Trebinje, injured

The chief imam of Trebinje, Husein ef. Hodžić, was injured while cleaning the remains of the Mujo Kotezlija Mosque in Kotezi, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Ef. Hodžić, one of the biggest proponents of the return of Bosniaks to Trebinje, was cleaning weeds from the remains of one of the most interesting mosques in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, along with weekend visitors from Dubrovnik, Stojan Marić and Vinko Kukrik, and several other friends, when a stone fell from the mosque walls and hit him in the head.

For decades, the Mujo Kotezlija Mosque in Kotezi near Trebinje has attracted the attention of history enthusiasts with its unusual architecture. According to available data, this mosque is the oldest in southern Herzegovina, and it was built by Mujo Kotezlija after the Ottoman conquest of Herzegovina.

Ef. Hodžić is one of the biggest proponents of the Mujo Kotezlija Mosque being rebuilt, reports NAP.
