Pride Parade in Sarajevo on September 8

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The first Pride Parade will be held in Sarajevo on September 8. The initiative to organize this event comes from the LGBTIQ community, from a group of activists from Prijedor, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Bijeljina, Tuzla, and other parts of BiH.

Therefore, the first Pride Parade of the LGBTIQ community in BiH will be organized under the slogan Ima izaći! (There is a way out!), which is a common expression we can hear in public transport across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the same time, "coming out of the closet" (English: coming out of the closet or just coming out) means LGBTIQ people expressing their sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or
sex characteristics to themselves or others.

"BiH is finally getting a Pride Parade, which is a protest against inequality and human rights violations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer people. It represents a fight against violence
and demands equal access to public space, as do other citizens who have the opportunity to protest," said Branko Ćulibrk, activist and member of the Organizing Committee of the BiH Pride Parade.

At the conference, activist and member of the Organizing Committee Lejla Huremović also spoke, stating that the announcement of the Pride Parade was submitted this morning to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of
Transport of Sarajevo Canton.
