On the occasion of BiH Independence Day, Sarajevo Canton officials send congratulations to all Bosnians and Herzegovinians

(Patria) - On the occasion of March 1 - Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, officials of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and Government, as well as representatives and ministers, sent congratulations to all citizens of BiH:

"Our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates 30 years of its independence. Since that March 1, 1992, when the majority of its citizens expressed their will and need to live in a free and independent state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the constant struggle for its preservation and progress continues to this day.

The hardest struggle, against aggression and the pretensions of neighboring countries, is behind us, with numerous victims, ethnic cleansing, and immense destruction of all its cultural, spiritual, and material resources.

The signing of the peace agreement in 1995 meant the cessation of armed conflict and the beginning of physical reconstruction, but also the continuation of the struggle for the state by other means, as aspirations and undermining of its statehood and independence have not ceased to this day.

Today, we solemnly and proudly mark this day, aware that we must all, its peoples and citizens, build and protect our state together, making it economically and politically stronger every day, while respecting international standards and human rights of all Bosnians and Herzegovinians. Happy March 1 - Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina," reads the congratulatory message sent by the Speaker of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Elvedin Okerić, Deputy Speakers Danijela Kristić, Smiljana Viteškić and Vibor Handžić, Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Edin Forto, ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government and representatives in the Canton Assembly.
