Gatherings in Sarajevo and Banja Luka on the occasion of March 8

The Cure Foundation marked Women's Day today with a march from the Jewish Museum Sarajevo to the Children of Sarajevo Square, with the theme "The Right Wing in the World - What Does the Strengthening of the Right Wing Mean for Women's Rights", writes the BiH news agency Patria.

With this walk, they reminded citizens of the true values of March 8, but also drew attention to the real position of women both in BiH society and in the world, and they read out several key problems that women in BiH society face.

The CURE Foundation asked right-wing political leaders how the current government structure views the issue of abortion in BiH and medically assisted reproduction. What is their stance on mobbing, discrimination, zero tolerance for violence against women, and the issue of marginalized groups of women facing discrimination?

Unfortunately, BiH society is returning to a period when women were confined to the home, i.e., when they were housewives and mothers without the option to choose it themselves.

Mary Ann Hennessey, Head of the Council of Europe in BiH, also participated in the march.

Also, a gathering was held today at noon in front of the National Theatre of RS, and participants walked to the center of Banja Luka and drew attention to women's rights in BiH society.
