Increase from March: Maternity allowance in Sarajevo Canton amounts to 1,261 KM

(Patria) - As of March 1, 2024, the bases for determining cash and other material benefits related to social protection and family protection with children have increased, confirmed the Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton, Enda Pavić Pečenković.

These increases will have a positive impact on our community, and the relevant ministry states that they continue to work diligently on improving the living standards of all our fellow citizens.

"The base now amounts to 800 KM, representing a significant increase of 6.67% compared to the previous three years. This is the result of our dedicated work and commitment to improving the quality of life of citizens of Sarajevo Canton. I particularly want to highlight the improvements that have occurred in specific forms of support. For example, benefits in lieu of salary for women/mothers, as well as financial assistance for women/mothers who are not employed, have been increased by 147 KM and now amount to 1,261.00 KM. Also, one-time financial assistance for baby equipment has been increased by 25 KM and amounts to 400 KM, providing important support to young parents. Furthermore, allowances for the maintenance of foster children with the new increase amount to 378.30 KM, which will further ease the daily challenges of many families. In addition, permanent financial assistance has been increased, as well as other material benefits," stated Minister Pavić Pečenković.

These improvements, added Minister Pavić Pečenković, are only a step towards further improving the quality of life of our fellow citizens.

"We will continue to work with the same dedication and commitment to ensure that all citizens have access to adequate support and opportunities for a dignified life," concluded Minister Pavić Pečenković.
