KS Premier and Government Members Confirmation in Assembly Possibly Early March?

The formation of government in Sarajevo Canton will depend on the speed with which parties select ministers for the KS Government, after which the KS Assembly session will continue, writes the BH news agency Patria.

The first step has been completed with the election of Elmedin Konaković as the mandate holder for the new KS Government, who only formally needs to be confirmed by the Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action. As the Patria agency has learned, a SDA Collegium has been scheduled for today, so a session is expected by the end of this week.

Although there are no official names for ministerial positions yet, SDA has previously stated that in accordance with the conclusions of the Presidency and the Main Board, they will appoint the most expert staff to the executive branch.

After SDA proposes candidates, they will be reviewed by the Personnel Commission, so it is likely that this process will be completed in the next two weeks, i.e., by the end of February.

The KS Assembly session, where the appointment of the prime minister and government members would be confirmed, could be scheduled for early March. Otherwise, the constitutive session of the KS Assembly was held on January 6, but the leadership was not elected as the Club of Croats and the Club of Serbs did not propose candidates for the leadership.

The Speaker of the Assembly is Sejo Bukva (DF), and one deputy is Sabahudin Delalić (SDA).

The new Speaker of the KS Assembly expressed his satisfaction with the trust placed in him, as well as his hope that the work of all representatives in this convocation of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will be successful and responsible.

- Numerous challenges lie ahead of us, which we must face together with the executive authorities in the coming period. I believe that together we can do a good job, that we will justify the trust of the citizens who placed in us in the October elections, said Bukva, announcing that direct contact with citizens will have a special place in his work, which, as he emphasizes, will help him better understand their problems and jointly try to find solutions for them.
