After the news was published in the media that the Banja Luka retail chain Tropic intends to take over Mercator's branches in BiH, confirmation arrived from this company, writes the Patria News Agency.
Srđan Supić, an associate in Tropic's marketing department, confirmed to Patria that the company has sent an offer for the takeover of Mercator.
- We confirm that ten days ago we sent a letter of intent to Agrokor, thus expressing our interest in taking over Mercator in BiH, and at this moment we would not comment further on this issue. Negotiations are underway, and for that reason, we will not comment on anything – Supić told NAP.
Tropic, with its 55 retail outlets in BiH and over 2,000 employees, represents one of the largest employers and retail chains in BiH.
On the other hand, Mercator has already taken over several Konzum branches in BiH, and that process is still ongoing.
