Amended indictment against Ahmet Sejdić, Ferid Buljubašić and 11 other BiH defense heroes confirmed

(Patria) - The Court of BiH granted the appeal of the BiH Prosecutor's Office against the decision to reject the indictment against 13 former commanders and members of the Army of BiH for crimes in the village of Jošanica near Foča, and confirmed the amended indictment, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced.

The Prosecutor's Office states that the appeal was granted and "the amended indictment for Jošanica was confirmed, on all counts for 13 defendants".

The state court had previously rejected this indictment, after which the Prosecutor's Office announced an appeal.

The Prosecutor's Office previously announced that the indictment charges Ferid Buljubašić, Ahmet and Izet Sejdić, Rašid Soba, Ševko Glušac, Zakir Jamak, Bahrudin Muhić known as Bane, Adem Fehrić, Mustafa Poljo, Enver Kustura known as Pena, Muhamed Lisko, Sakib Čakar, and Munir Nalo with war crimes against victims of Serbian nationality in Jošanica near Foča committed in December 1992, when 56 civilians of Serbian nationality were killed, about ten people were wounded, and houses, property, agricultural and auxiliary buildings were set on fire and destroyed.

"The armed attack led and participated in by the defendants was carried out on an undefended village, inhabited by civilians, and among the victims were elderly people, women, and children.

The oldest victim was an 88-year-old man, and the youngest was a two-year-old girl. Some of the victims were tortured and killed in an extremely cruel manner," the Prosecutor's Office stated at the beginning of August.

They added that the defendant Ahmet Sejdić, as a brigade commander and member of the TO staff, is additionally charged with crimes in the villages of Klisure, Bursići, and Hadrovići in the municipality of Višegrad, on August 8, 1992, which were outside the conflict and inhabited by civilians of Serbian nationality, where during the attack eight civilians of Serbian nationality were killed, including the oldest victim, a 90-year-old elderly woman, one civilian was wounded, and three civilians were taken into illegal detention in the Višegrad area, and houses and buildings were set on fire and destroyed.

"The defendant Ferid Buljubašić, as a commander and superior, is additionally charged with war crimes against civilians of Serbian nationality in the villages around Čajniče in February 1993, where during an attack in which ARBiH soldiers arrived via the territory of Montenegro, in the area of the villages of Šapići, Trpinje, Trojan, and Ponikve, 11 civilians of Serbian nationality were killed by automatic gunfire, including elderly men and women and one child, and five civilians were wounded, and houses and property were set on fire and destroyed," the indictment stated.
