The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed an indictment against Sekula Babić for a war crime committed against the civilian population in the Glamoč municipality, BIRN reported, as carried by the Bosnian news agency Patria.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Babić participated in murders, inflicting physical and psychological suffering, as well as looting and destroying property of the civilian non-Serb population from the Glamoč area.
As previously stated by the Prosecutor's Office, in October 1992, he approached a house where four civilians of Bosniak nationality, including a child, were located, and with the intent to kill them all, aimed an automatic rifle through the window and opened fire, thereby killing an elderly woman.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Babić, together with other members of the Army of Republika Srpska, stopped an elderly woman of Bosniak nationality on the road between the villages of Kamen and Jakir, physically abused her, and she subsequently died from the injuries inflicted.
The accused Babić and two other VRS members, according to an earlier statement from the Prosecutor's Office, abused a minor civilian in the village of Jakir, whom the accused interrogated and took his money.
Babić was arrested in early September last year, when restrictive measures were imposed on him, NAP reports.
