Indictment against Sakib Mahmuljin confirmed

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed today, December 31, 2015, an indictment charging the accused Sakib Mahmuljin with the criminal offense of war crimes against prisoners of war, war crimes against the wounded and sick, and war crimes against the civilian population, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- The indictment states that during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, an armed conflict between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army of the Republika Srpska in the area of the municipality of Zavidovići, the accused Sakib Mahmuljin, in his capacity as commander of the 3rd Corps of the Army of RBiH, which included the "El Mujahideen" detachment, in 1995, while the military operation of the Army of RBiH was ongoing in the wider area of Zavidovići and Vozuća, within which members of the "El Mujahideen" detachment committed war crimes against prisoners of war and civilians of Serbian nationality in that area, did not undertake anything to prevent the said crime, although he had information that members of this detachment were preparing to commit the crime, and after the committed crime, he did not undertake anything to punish the perpetrators of the crime - it was announced from the Court of BiH.
