Indictment against Milorad Dodik confirmed

(Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today confirmed the indictment against the President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik and acting director of the Official Gazette of RS Miloš Lukić.

Dodik had previously filed a criminal complaint against prosecutor Nedim Ćosić of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, but no prosecutorial decision has been made in that case yet.

We remind you that at the beginning of August, the BiH Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against Dodik, but instead of confirming it, the Court decided to return the indictment for revision because the Prosecutor's Office did not specify which criminal offense was committed and what the cause-and-effect relationship is between what Dodik is accused of and what Lukić is accused of.

The Prosecutor's Office had previously stated that they filed the indictment for the criminal offense of non-implementation of the decision of the High Representative from Article 203.a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH, which was recently amended by High Representative Christian Schmidt precisely so that his decisions would be respected in RS.

A prison sentence of six months to five years is foreseen for this criminal offense, however, after the indictment was revised, they did not make any public statements to explain what changes were made.
