Indictment confirmed against the Director of the Employment Service of USK for abuse of official authority

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Bihać confirmed the indictment of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) Prosecutor's Office against Nedžad Zukanović from Ključ, director of the Public Institution Employment Service of USK Bihać for abuse of official authority.

The accused is charged with acting contrary to the interests of his official duty and the institution he manages, as an official person - director of the Public Institution Employment Service of USK, during the procedure for filling the position of expert associate for employment mediation, active employment policy, and labor market research.

Namely, after a public competition for the said position was held, the accused concluded an employment contract with a former employee of the Service, A.V., postponing the start of his employment indefinitely, as he was aware that the said person could not start working within the legal deadline due to another employment engagement, i.e., a political function.

By acting consciously in this way, Zukanović benefited person A.V. by acquiring the right to the actual start of employment after the end of the political engagement, while neglecting the actual needs of the Service to fill the said position and preventing the employment of available candidates from the ranking list of the relevant competition.

Furthermore, the USK Prosecutor's Office, with the same indictment, proposed that Nedžad Zukanović be issued a ban from holding the position of director of public institutions in FBiH for a period of three years from the date the decision becomes final.
