(Patria) - A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.4 on the Richter scale struck the area between Jamaica and Cuba, reports CSEM/EMSC. The epicenter of the earthquake is at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The earthquake occurred south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica.
A tsunami warning has been issued for Cuba, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. The U.S. Geological Survey reports that dangerous waves caused by the tsunami are possible, reports Index.
