Contracts Signed for Construction of 65 More Houses

Federal Minister for Refugees and Displaced Persons Adil Osmanović today, at the seat of the Federal Government in Sarajevo, signed contracts with contractors as part of the second phase of the OPEC Project realization, reports the Patria News Agency.

This involves the construction of 65 houses destroyed in the past war, on a turnkey basis, namely four houses in the Travnik municipality, two in Vareš, six in Kakanj, eight each in Zavidovići and Maglaj, 15 in Doboj, ten in Odžak, and 12 houses in Bijeljina. The value of this work is 1,563,408.91 KM.

Thanks to the good preparation of the Project, carried out by the Federal Ministry for Refugees and Displaced Persons, contractors will enter the construction sites within seven to ten days. Depending on the weather conditions in the upcoming winter, it is assumed that the residential buildings will be ready for occupancy by the spring of 2015.

In the first phase, also financed by the International Development Fund (OFID), 93 housing units were renovated, with an investment of 2.2 million KM. Minister Osmanović today, while signing new contracts, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the already built facilities.

Otherwise, the total value of credit funds for the renovation of housing stock on a turnkey basis amounts to 7,000,000 dollars for Bosnia and Herzegovina, of which 3,237,500 dollars are allocated to the Federation of BiH. The Project implementation period is from 2013 to 2015.

The third phase of the OPEC Project envisages the renovation of another 18 residential buildings.
