Contracts signed for urgent interventions on square paving, horticultural landscaping, and installation of urban furniture

(Patria) - In the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, contracts were signed for the execution of works on urgent interventions, paving of squares and stairs, horticultural landscaping, and installation of urban furniture in the area of the Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality, worth approximately 160,000 convertible marks.

The contracts were signed by the directors of the company "Dinalsa" d.o.o. Sarajevo, Nusret Bajramović, General Cooperative "Bios" Visoko, Adis Hodžić, and the director of the company "Prunus" d.o.o. Kakanj, Selma Haračić – Berbić.

Urgent interventions on paving of squares and stairs

The company "Dinalsa" d.o.o. Sarajevo will carry out urgent interventions on the paving of squares and stairs. These are extremely important works aimed at ensuring a safer environment for the residents of the Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality through regular maintenance of pedestrian zones.

"We live in a time when there is constant devastation of paved public areas and pedestrian zones by delivery and other motor vehicles. After a successfully conducted public procurement and selection of contractors, we have reached the signing of contracts, which comes at the best possible time, considering that repairs of pedestrian zones in Alipašino Polje, phases C and A, Olympic Village, Saraj-Polje, etc., will begin immediately. The value of the contract is close to 60,000 KM. In parallel with the implementation of urgent paving interventions, work is also being done on resolving and arranging traffic to improve the space and reduce constant devastation in the future," said Nermin Kahrović, head of the Department for Public, Green, and Recreational Areas of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo.

Horticultural landscaping

The nursery company "Prunus" d.o.o. Kakanj will carry out horticultural landscaping works in the area of the Novi Grad municipality. These are regular annual activities that the Municipality plans to implement to improve urban greenery and the environment. The contract includes planting saplings of trees and ornamental plants.

As stated by Nermin Kahrović, the Municipality signs agreements with KJKP "Park" Sarajevo every year, this year worth 250,000 KM, but this is not enough for all the activities the Municipality plans, so a public procurement was conducted and additional works worth around 50,000 KM were contracted.
"The guiding idea of the Municipality is that for every felled tree, in accordance with legal and sub-legal acts, we plant 5 to 6 new tree saplings for each felled tree, which represents a responsible approach to green ecological policy and a healthy environment, and these works will be realized very soon," said Nermin Kahrović.

Director Selma Haračić – Berbić thanked the Municipality for the trust shown. She stated that the "Prunus" nursery is a domestic producer, meaning all planting material is indigenous, produced on Prunus's production platforms. "We are pleased that the Municipality of Novi Grad has a very conscientious approach to all public areas, especially green areas, and demonstrates great professionalism and a very empathetic and responsible approach towards green spaces. We are happy to be part of that team and will do our best to adhere to all procedures and deadlines stipulated in the contract," said Director Haračić – Berbić.

300 new park benches

The procurement and installation of park benches and other urban furniture will be carried out by the General Agricultural Cooperative "Bios" d.o.o. Visoko. A framework agreement in the amount of slightly over 130,000 KM was previously signed with this company, and today contract number 1 was signed in the amount of 50,000 KM, within which 100 benches will be installed. In the coming period this year, it is planned that through this and other contracts, approximately 300 new park benches will be installed in settlements where there is a need expressed by citizens and where there are spatial possibilities and needs.

The maintenance of existing benches is not within the Municipality's jurisdiction, but the Municipality's goal is to replace existing concrete benches with new, more functional, and better benches. These are much easier to maintain compared to the existing concrete ones where devastation or deformation is permanent.

Adis Hodžić stated that the company "Bios" d.o.o. Visoko has this type of assortment, and the quality of their work will be recognizable on the ground as before.

"Thanks to that quality, we got this job to do, we have prepared a certain number of benches, so we can start with the installation very soon and in this early spring period, beautify the city and plant flowers in pots, which is also part of this contract," said Hodžić.
