Contracts signed for the rehabilitation of six residential buildings in the Konjic area, damaged during the floods

(Patria) - After the completion of activities under the Public Call for the selection of beneficiaries of assistance for the construction and rehabilitation of housing units destroyed or damaged in the 2024 floods within the EU project supporting flood recovery in Bosnia and Herzegovina, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in BiH and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with local governments, contracts for the rehabilitation of 6 residential buildings in the Konjic area were signed in the Konjic City Administration building.

The contracts were signed in the presence of representatives of UNDP, IOM, and associates by the Mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, and the beneficiaries.

- After everything that has been happening from October 2024 until today in our and other local communities affected by the floods, and after all the necessary procedures related to the implementation of the Public Call, we have reached the stage of signing contracts with the beneficiaries. I thank the European Union for its support in flood recovery, as well as the project implementers UNDP and IOM, who are continuously with us on the ground and monitor all phases and needs for the realization of assistance to the population and the local community. I wish for the works to start as soon as possible - said Mayor Ćatić, wishing the beneficiaries much health and happiness in the future.

We are satisfied and glad that the rehabilitation of our residential buildings, as announced, will be done quickly and with quality - said Nermin Sultić from Buturović Polje on behalf of the beneficiaries.

The rehabilitation of housing units within the project, which aims to find a permanent housing solution for families whose homes were damaged in the floods in October 2024, will be carried out by a contractor selected through a tender currently being conducted by IOM, based on a bill of quantities prepared by engineers from UNDP and IOM in coordination with the Konjic City Administration.
