Transport Community Agreement Signed between BiH and the EU

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Denis Zvizdić, in the presence of EU Commissioner for Mobility and Transport Violeta Bulc, signed today in Brussels the Transport Community Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union.

This will fulfill the basic condition for activating funds for four infrastructure projects approved for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Western Balkan Leaders' Summit in Trieste.

These include the Vc motorway section on the Ponirak - Vraca route, i.e. Zenica - Tunnel, worth 83.9 million euros, of which BiH received a grant of 15.9 million euros. The second section is Zenica - Gračanica with a total investment value of 66.9 million euros, with a grant for BiH of 11.8 million euros. The third section is Johovac - Rudanka, worth 80 million euros, with a grant approved for BiH in the amount of 15.3 million euros. The Port of Brčko is the fourth project worth 10.1 million euros, for which BiH was approved grant funds in the amount of 3.1 million euros.

The obtained funds represent a large investment value of around 250 million euros, of which BiH received around 46 million euros in grant funds that will enable the implementation of these four extremely important projects for the infrastructural improvement of the environment in BiH. This will serve as a basis for strengthening the economy and attracting foreign investments.
