Agreement signed: Germany secured 28.5 million euros for projects in BiH from 2008 to 2012

Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH Christian Hellbach signed and exchanged, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, the Notes of Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation projects for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, reports the Patria news agency.  

On the occasion of signing the Notes of Agreement, Minister Crnadak, on behalf of BiH, expressed gratitude to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for its assistance in this and other projects through which the German government supports BiH, and expressed readiness for continued cooperation. He emphasized the very good relations that BiH has with Germany in all fields, particularly highlighting his satisfaction with his recent visit to Berlin and his meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The Agreement on Technical Cooperation between BiH and Germany was signed on January 31, 1995, and since then, intergovernmental talks have been regularly held to agree on various projects in the field of economic and social development of BiH, for which the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany provided material and financial resources. For the period 2008-2012, the Federal Republic of Germany secured a total of 28.5 million euros for projects in BiH.

German development cooperation consists of financial and technical cooperation. Technical cooperation transfers technical, economic, and organizational knowledge and skills on a non-reimbursable basis to partner countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
