On behalf of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister of Defence Marina Pendeš signed on 28.12.2015 the Agreement on Military-Financial Cooperation between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Implementation Protocol regarding financial assistance between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Through this agreement and implementation protocol, the Republic of Turkey has approved financial assistance for 2015 in the amount of 3,300,000 TL (in the equivalent of US dollars) for the procurement of goods and services from companies of the Republic of Turkey's defense industry, for the purpose of equipping and modernizing the capacities of the Armed Forces of BiH.
A portion of these funds will be used for training and course costs for members of the AF BiH in the Republic of Turkey.
This assistance represents the continued support of the Republic of Turkey in building the capacities of the AF BiH, both technical and in improving the human resources and skills of the members of the AF BiH.
The Agreement and Implementation Protocol were signed after the completion of legal procedures, and on behalf of the partner party, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Turkey, Ismet Yilmaz, will sign them by the end of 2015 in Ankara.
