Cooperation Agreement between Ministries of Interior and SIPA Signed

An Agreement on mutual assistance and operational cooperation of police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed today (29.12.2015) at the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

After the final harmonization of the content, the agreement with SIPA was signed on behalf of their institutions by the Director of the Police of Republika Srpska Gojko Vasić, the Director of the Federal Police Administration Dragan Lukač, the Head of the Brčko District BiH Police Goran Pisić, and the Director of SIPA Perica Stanić, reports the Patria News Agency.

SIPA had previously submitted the draft Agreement to the mentioned police bodies for their statements and suggestions.

The signatories of the Agreement emphasized the importance of cooperation between all institutions at the state level, both entities, and Brčko District BiH, in accordance with legally prescribed competencies, with the aim of more successfully combating all forms of crime and more effectively countering current security challenges.

An identical copy of the Agreement has been sent to the cantonal ministries of internal affairs for potential proposals and suggestions for future harmonization and possible signing.
