Agreement Signed for Construction of School on Šip

The Mayor of Centar Sarajevo Municipality Nedžad Ajnadžić and the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton Elvir Kazazović signed on Tuesday, 27 December 2016, the Agreement on joint financing of the construction of a primary school building on Šip.

According to Elmedin Konaković, the cantonal prime minister who attended the signing of the Agreement, this act is actually a guarantee of the realisation of the primary school construction project.

- When we laid the cornerstone, there were many skeptics and doubts regarding the realisation of this project. I was a councilor in the Centar Municipality and I know that the idea of building a school has been ongoing for more than ten years. I am glad that the realisation of this project has come to the fore. The study on the justification of the construction of the facility showed its justification, and this school will not jeopardise others, Konaković emphasised.

The Cantonal Government allocated 700 thousand marks in 2016 for the construction of the school on Šip, and in the budget for the next year, an amount of half a million marks is planned.

- This is one of the capital projects of this Government of the Sarajevo Canton. There is great readiness of both the Cantonal Government and the Centar Municipality to realise this project to the end and in the shortest possible time. I believe that in the budget for the next year we can allocate even more than half a million marks, Kazazović pointed out.

The public call for the selection of the most favourable contractor, as stated by Mayor Ajnadžić, will be announced in the first week of 2017.

- I am glad that we signed an agreement today for one of the capital projects in the Centar municipality, but also in the Sarajevo Canton. This project is of vital importance for the residents of Šip, but also for the wider area. The planned deadline for the completion of works is 2020, but I sincerely believe it can be shorter. We have already received an initiative to name the school after our great writer Nedžad Ibrišimović, and I hope that with the support of the Council and the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton we can realise that as well, Ajnadžić emphasised.
