Subsidies given to owners of flower pots and beekeepers without bees

The investigation against Federal Deputy Prime Minister Jerko Ivanković Lijanović will not stop at the "Meso" operation, the BH News Agency Patria (NAP) has learned.

Ivanković Lijanović, who is also the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the commander of the FBiH Civil Protection, could soon be held accountable for the illegal awarding of agricultural subsidies, as well as for negligent conduct during the devastating May floods that hit a large part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Patria has learned that Lijanović could soon be held accountable for the illegal awarding of agricultural subsidies. Namely, the prosecution possesses more evidence testifying that Lijanović, as the Federal Minister of Agriculture, awarded subsidies to people who do not engage in agriculture at all. Thus, individuals in Kiseljak, Busovača... who own nothing but flower pots as land received money!?

Some individuals also received money in the name of subsidies for the development of beekeeping, although they are not involved in raising bees and producing honey. They kept part of the money for themselves and returned part to Lijanović, through intermediaries.

Marjan Oršolić, Prime Minister of Posavina Canton, also announced that Lijanović will be held accountable for negligent work as commander of the Federal Civil Protection during the devastating floods in May this year. In an interview with the Patria agency, he announced that the affected population of Posavina will file criminal charges against Lijanović because he did not take all measures to protect this region from catastrophic floods, which caused multi-million damage to local farmers.

- To prevent floods in Posavina, only about ten million marks should have been invested in raising embankments in the section from Vidovice to Tursinovac near Bosanski Šamac. However, this was not done. Due to this oversight, multi-million damage was caused to entrepreneurs in Posavina. Lijanović will have to answer for this – Oršolić said in that interview, writes NAP.
