Agreement Reached on Collective Agreement: Healthcare Workers in KS Abandon Protest March Announced for Friday

(Patria) - The Healthcare Workers' Union in Sarajevo Canton (KS) has abandoned the two-hour peaceful protest march announced for Friday in Sarajevo.

The Union reminds that for Friday, April 24th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a peaceful moving gathering - protest march was announced on the route from the Eternal Flame to the KS Government building.

"After intensive negotiations between the negotiating teams of the Healthcare Workers' Union in KS, the relevant ministry, the KS Health Insurance Fund, and the KS Government, an agreement has been reached on amendments and additions to the Collective Agreement on the rights and obligations of employers and workers in the healthcare sector for the KS area.

Healthcare workers in KS to hold warning rally on April 24th, Government offered them a humiliating proposal

(Patria) - The negotiating team of the Government of Sarajevo Canton did not accept the demands of the Healthcare Workers' Union of Sarajevo Canton concerning the increase of hourly rates, coefficients, salary supplements, i.e., amendments and additions to the collective agreement, said today

An agreement has been concluded regarding the above, with numbers: 10-30-6120/26 and 535/26, both dated 22.04.2026. Accordingly, the peaceful moving gathering - protest march is canceled due to the cessation of the circumstances that were the reason for its organization", stated the Union.

And given that within the planned protest march, a tribute to the murdered children of Sarajevo from the period 1992-1995 was also foreseen, they announced that their representatives will do so and lay wreaths at the Memorial in Veliki Park on Friday at 12:00 PM.

"With this act, directors of public health institutions are notified and at the same time requested to approve absence from work for the union representatives of this Union", added the Union.
