Remains of seven victims from Prijedor and Sana Valley area escorted from Šejkovača Identification Center

(Patria) - The remains of seven victims from Prijedor and its surroundings were escorted from the Šejkovača Identification Center in Sanski Most today, and a collective funeral prayer will be held for them tomorrow at the musalla of the future Memorial Center in Kamičani.

The procession with the coffins will today, in addition to Sanski Most, pass through and briefly stop in several towns in Bosanska Krajina: Ključ, Bosanski Petrovac, Bihać, Bosanska Krupa, Bosanska Otoka, Bosanski Novi, and Prijedor.

Citizens will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the martyrs by reciting Fatiha, laying flowers, or in another way. The coffins will be received in Kamičani tonight around 8:00 PM.

The victims to be buried this year are: Sušić (Meho) Ismet, born in 1931 in Kozaruša near Prijedor; Čelić (Aziz) Edin, born in 1967 in Zagreb; Čelić (Aziz) Semir, born in 1968 in Hambarine – Prijedor; Čikotić (Mehmed) Mehemed, born in 1960 in Hambarine – Prijedor; Zečić (Idriz) Mirsad, born in 1967 in Prijedor; Bajrektarević (Hasan) Kasim, born in 1922 in Kamičani – Kozarac; Alagić (Islam) Omer, born in 1930 in Rizvanovići – Prijedor.

These are victims killed in the areas of Kozarac, Hambarine, Rizvanovići, and in Prijedor, whose remains were exhumed in 1998 and 2024 at the sites of Donja Dragotinja, Pašinac, Volarić, and Hušići.

The youngest victim to be buried this year is Semir Čelić, killed in 1992 at the age of 24, and today he will be buried with his brother Edin, who is one year older. The oldest victim to be buried tomorrow is Kasim Bajrektarević, who was 70 years old at the time of his death.

Among the youngest victims is Mirsad Zečić, who will be buried tomorrow by his brother Enes.

- For more than thirty years, nothing was known about him. They found him murdered, tied up, and the worst part is they say he was buried alive - says Enes to Preporod.info.

He hopes for justice, which, as he says, will be "the only relief".

Despite the pain she carries, his sister Mirsada emphasizes that finding his bones brought them relief. They found him after thirty-two years, twelve kilometers from home.

- We have a mother, she is eighty years old. She was waiting for him. Our only wish was to bring him home. We prayed to God Almighty to find even one bone. We received him, but complete - said Mirsada.

Nuri Jujić was informed after twenty-six years that there was a mistake in the burial of the remains of her father, Omer Alagić.

- However, we all make mistakes. Thank God that we have reached today to do this properly. Eight months ago, we wanted to change the worn-out tombstones. The realization that he was not lying in that grave was painful - states Nura.

Two of her brothers were also killed, so tomorrow, as she says, her father will be buried in Bišćani, in the cemetery with his sons.

- Despite everything I have been through, I have people around me who give me strength. We are a very brave and strong family. We go through all this together. Afterwards, we recite the tevhid, and many people are with me.

Only now do I see what these departed souls and we mean. There is no one who didn't know him who won't come to see him off - said Nura.

A total of thirteen members of her family were killed.

We remind you that tonight, after the evening prayer (akšam-namaz), the kelimei-tevhid will be recited for the souls of the victims, and the mufti of Bihać, hafiz Mehmed-ef. Kudić, and the mufti for Western Europe, Senaid-ef. Kobilica, will address the attendees.

Earlier today, after the afternoon prayer (ikindija-namaz), the kelimei-tevhid will also be recited in the Rizvanovići community (Medžlis Prijedor), where the mufti of Bihać will also speak.
