BHRT Management Board: Unilateral decision by BH Radio 1 Director Kerleta revoked

(Patria) - The Management Board of the Radio Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which otherwise manages BHRT, did not make any decision to declare today, September 27, a day of mourning, or to adjust the program across all BHRT platforms.

"It has never happened before, nor is it practice, for only one media outlet within BHRT to make an individual decision on such an important programming stance as declaring a day of mourning. Therefore, in this case, the director of BH Radio 1, Dejan Kerleta, independently, without any consultation with the Management Board or the Director-General of BHRT, made the decision to adjust the BH Radio program to the day of mourning declared by the government of Republika Srpska.

Such unilateral and uncoordinated decisions are harmful to BHRT because they represent a gross politicization of the editorial policy of the public RTV service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has always been guided by high professional standards.

Therefore, the Management Board of the Radio Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina has revoked the unilateral decision of the director of BH Radio 1, Dejan Kerleta, to adjust the Radio program to the day of mourning", stated the BHRT Management Board.
