Business rules are clear: For SBB ministers to enter the KS Government, Konaković must resign

An emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, writes the Patria News Agency.

The Collegium of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, at its session today, supported the request of the SDA Caucus in the KS Assembly and scheduled an emergency session of the KS Assembly. As defined by the business rules, the agenda for the emergency session will be determined at the session itself.

Although the reason is known, which is the reconstruction of the KS Government in which DF cadres are to be replaced by SBB cadres, it is still unclear how the change will be made, because the KS Assembly's business rules are clear, and the term "reconstruction" is not mentioned in them. Namely, in order to make changes, it is necessary for Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković to first resign, and after that, a new government, i.e., ministers, are elected.

Željko Komšić, leader of the Democratic Front, pointed out this fact, stating that it is democratic for the majority to change, but that procedures must be followed for such actions.

- It is not a problem for reconstructions to happen and it is quite democratic for majorities to change, but it must be done through regular procedures. Do not violate the elementary acts by which assemblies operate. In Sarajevo Canton, there is no concept of government reconstruction; the dismissal and change of the parliamentary majority, or the dismissal of the Government, is carried out according to the acts of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly by the prime minister submitting his resignation. This is how it was done in Tuzla, and that is a legal way to dismiss a government. The same can be done in KS, and even the current prime minister, Dino Konaković, publicly protested against it when the SDP violated these provisions of the business rules, and now he wants to do the same thing. Unfortunately, the logic of arrogance and force and the actions of the ruling structures continue in this country – Komšić stated.
