Employers expect the FBiH Government to stop talking about reforms and implement them urgently

TUZLA, (Patria) - Employers expect the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the executive, but also as representatives of the legislative authority in FBiH, to stop talking about the necessity of implementing reforms and to start implementing reforms as soon as possible, it was emphasized during the meeting of representatives of the Employers' Group of Tuzla Canton within the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with
Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić. The meeting was organized at the initiative of UPFBiH, and was attended by Adnan Smailbegović, president, and Mladen Pandurević, director of UPFBiH.

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina must urgently accelerate activities on adopting reform laws with the aim of relieving the economy and improving the business environment, especially considering the current negative trends in the global economic market, the consequences of which are significantly felt by businessmen in FBiH.

During the meeting, the need for the fastest possible adoption of legal proposals proposed by employers within the "Initiative 20+5+6" was emphasized, especially the set of tax laws concerning the draft laws on contributions, income tax, and profit tax, which aim to reduce the burden on labor.

As one of the urgent measures that must be implemented, employers again emphasized the formation of a Coordination Team for parafiscal levies in FBiH with the aim of abolishing or reducing existing parafiscal levies, as well as controlling the adoption of new parafiscal levies that burden the business of companies.

"We expect the Government of the Federation of BiH to take urgent measures to mitigate the negative effects of the consequences on the economy in FBiH, caused by the coronavirus epidemic and the migrant crisis. Some of our members already have problems with the procurement and placement of goods, which is a direct consequence of the epidemic. We emphasized to the Prime Minister that the Government of FBiH must intervene urgently to prevent crisis situations," emphasized UPFBiH.
