Tihić and Čović's last meeting: Dragan, we must find a solution so that everyone is satisfied

At the commemoration of Sulejman Tihić, among others, Dragan Čović, Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, spoke, stating that he last visited Tihić at his home in Bosanski Šamac.

- Although he was visibly exhausted from illness and necessary therapies at the time, he wanted us to have Bosnian coffee. I thought we would talk about ordinary family matters, not to bother him with politics, but Sulejman quietly told me: "Dragan, we must find a solution so that everyone is satisfied. Our Bosnia and Herzegovina is beautiful." Dear friends, Sulejman left us a lot in legacy – to think about how BiH can be beautiful when all its peoples are satisfied. Dear Sulejman, thank you for all the good you have done as a man, friend, and politician. You have left a great void in me, and your family great pain, but also something your grandchildren, whose pictures you always showed me, will be proud of – Čović said.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Staša Košarac, said that Tihić was a man of agreement, but that it is not easy in BiH.

- He was a good man, and that is not easy in bad times. He was a man of dialogue and compromise, and that requires great will, desire, and courage in this country. He was one of the leaders whose words were listened to with great attention, even by those who disagreed with such views – Košarac said.

He further stated:

- Mr. Tihić had all of that, and even more. He was one of the few political leaders in BiH whose words were carefully listened to and respected by everyone, even by those who disagreed with his political views. That is why Mr. Tihić will be remembered as a man of stability, which he brought to the institutions of this country through his dedicated work – added Košarac.
