Last shepherds from Bjelašnica descend towards Hadžići

Shepherds who spent the summer with their sheep on Bjelašnica and surrounding mountains are now descending towards Hadžići, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Meteorologists are announcing the first snow as early as Tuesday, and if the shepherds encounter it in the mountains, they will face difficulties, as the sheep will be left without food and many of them will perish.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is suitable for livestock farming due to numerous mountain pastures, but livestock farming is nevertheless in decline.

At the same time, while pastures in the country are deteriorating, BiH imports most of the meat for its population from Brazil or other countries, even though experts increasingly warn that such meat is of questionable quality, writes NAP.
