Consequences of devastating landslides: Renovation works in Željezo Polje continue even during winter days

Renovation works on landslides in Željezo Polje are not stopping even during winter, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
This place in the municipality of Žepče in central Bosnia was hit by devastating landslides in May last year, which destroyed dozens of facilities, the complete village infrastructure, and endangered the lives of more than 4,500 residents who live from agriculture.

With funds from the Government of the Federation of BiH, the Islamic Community of BiH, USAID, UNDP, as well as donations from other organizations that arrived from the country and the world, a part of the damaged facilities and infrastructure has been renovated to date, but it is still not enough to fully restore life to this place. About 100 families welcomed winter outside their homes, which were destroyed or endangered by landslides.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has invested a lot of donated funds in Željezo Polje, and they have not stopped their assistance even during the winter months. With TIKA's funds, the road infrastructure in Željezo Polje is currently being renovated, writes Patria.
