MPs in NSRS seek dismissal of Senad Bratić over SDA's Program Declaration, he resigns

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The Collegium of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has scheduled a special session of that body regarding the Proposal for a Decision on the dismissal of the Vice-President of the National Assembly, Senad Bratić, due to his participation in the adoption of the SDA's Program Declaration, which has drawn condemnation from political parties in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska. Bratić held a press conference today where he stated that he is submitting an irrevocable resignation. 

"I have not done anything wrong in my work. This procedure cannot remain without our reaction on the ground. I am submitting an irrevocable resignation from the position of Vice-President, because I do not want a national story to be created at the expense of Bosniaks; this position is not worth it," said Bratić, adding that he did so in consultation with the SDA bodies and President Bakir Izetbegović.

Edin Ramić, Vice-President of the SDA and representative in the NSRS, said that he will ask the SDA Central Committee to decide on the steps taken by the SNSD, and to take a stance regarding further negotiations on forming a government at the BiH level. 

The request for convening a special session was submitted by the caucuses of SNSD, DNS, SP, Demos, NDP, United Srpska, and the independent MPs' group and Mijo Perkunić.

In the explanation of the request for convening the session with the proposed agenda, the MPs reminded that the SDA at its last Congress adopted a Program Declaration which is "directly aimed against the interests of Republika Srpska and deeply interferes with the existing arrangement of BiH, which guarantees the status of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people as a constituent people."

The dismissal of Bratić was requested due to his participation in the adoption of this declaration, and because his actions as a member of the SDA implement a policy against the interests of Republika Srpska, and as Vice-President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska he acts contrary to the Constitution and laws of RS, for which reason MPs are called upon to support the proposal for a decision on his dismissal.

From the SNSD, they stated that they no longer wish to cooperate with the SDA.
