POSKOK takes over case of tragedy in Donja Jablanica

(Patrai) - The Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor's Office of FBiH (POSKOK) has taken over the Donja Jablanica case, it was confirmed by that judicial institution.

- The case will be an absolute priority for this department. The acting federal prosecutor has been assigned the case and is familiarizing himself with it - POSKOK stated.

Let us remind you that POSKOK returned the case related to the tragic accident from 2024 in Donja Jablanica to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton - Regional Prosecutor's Office Konjic slightly more than a month ago.
As announced at the time, the case was returned for technical reasons.

- The case was returned due to certain technical deficiencies in the file noticed by the employees of the Special Department when reconciling the documentation, which need to be rectified, a new, corrected list of the file needs to be made, its sorting completed, and the entire case submitted to the Special Department for re-decision - POSKOK said at the time.

In the tragic floods in October 2024, 19 people died in Jablanica and four in Konjic.

The HNK Prosecutor's Office announced at the end of September last year that the investigation in this case was in its final phase, after numerous expert examinations were conducted by experts in mining, geodesy, geology, and finance, data was collected from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, as well as data from other institutions and services as needed, and a certain number of people were interviewed as witnesses.

They stated at the time that the investigation included one legal entity - a business company and four individuals, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion of committing criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority in conjunction with the criminal offense of serious cases of causing general danger, the criminal offense of environmental pollution, and the criminal offense of dereliction of duty in service under the Criminal Code of FBiH.
