(Patria) - The Collegium of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska decided today that the Tenth Special Session, at the request of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović, will be held on Friday, 20 October 2023, starting at 11:00 AM.
The unanimously adopted Proposed Agenda includes the item – Proposal for a Decision on confirming the Statement of the BiH Presidency member from Republika Srpska, according to which the Conclusion of the BiH Presidency regarding the escalation of attacks by the institutions of the entity Republika Srpska on the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the endangerment of the constitutional and legal order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, number: 01-50-1-2975-25/23, adopted without consensus at the 8th regular session of the BiH Presidency, held on 10 October 2023, is highly detrimental to the vital interests of Republika Srpska.
We remind you that the conclusion, authored by BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović and supported by the Chair of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić, states that the institutions of Republika Srpska are attacking Dayton and the BiH Constitution. It calls for European Union sanctions against Republika Srpska officials.
According to the BiH Constitution, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska considers the Statement of the BiH Presidency member, and if it confirms it by a two-thirds majority within ten days of submission, the contested BiH Presidency decision does not enter into force.
As the current balance of power in the NSRS stands, the required two-thirds majority exists.
