Nermin Nikšić's Message: In 2017, We Will Be the Alternative to This Government

A New Year's press conference of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Sarajevo, where President Nermin Nikšić stated that this year has been difficult for BiH citizens, full of political conflicts and an unconstitutional referendum in Republika Srpska, Patria reports.

He said that citizens can hardly wait for this year to pass because it has brought numerous problems, and many young people have left BiH.

- Only the authorities see prosperity and reforms - Nikšić said.

Nikšić noted that the application for the EU and the arrival of the Questionnaire in BiH were positive developments.

He also said that the authorities in BiH should stop looking at what Belgrade wants, but rather at other cities in BiH, and commented that this year was marked by misleading the public and compromised local elections. Nikšić questioned whether fair and honest elections could be organized in BiH, and recalled the case in Stolac and the failure to hold elections in Mostar.

He also recalled that a mayor who denies genocide was elected in Srebrenica, in the year when Karadžić's verdict was delivered, which he considers one of the key events.

The SDP President also recalled the longest parliamentary blockade, the difficult situation of pensioners, and the fact that pensions are being paid from loans for the first time, violations of workers' rights, corruption, etc.

- In the coming year, through our policies, we will show citizens that we are the true alternative to this government - Nikšić said, adding that young people on the lists will not just be decorative figures, and announced that he will also engage in Republika Srpska.

The SDP President announced the strengthening of the left wing and wished the citizens of BiH a prosperous BiH.
