Message to Karamarko and HNS: DF will strongly defend BiH from those who want to dismember it

The Democratic Front most sharply condemns today's warmongering statement by the president of HDZ RH, Tomislav Karamarko, as well as the positions expressed at the session of the non-governmental organization HNS. The positions of the head of the opposition party in the neighboring country, which fully correspond to the declared goals of the NGO HNS today, are nothing more than another attempt to achieve war goals through peaceful means, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Changes to the Constitution, or the Election Law, are possible within the procedure prescribed by the Constitution and laws of this country, and any attempts to achieve changes to the constitutional and legal order through extra-institutional pressure from neighboring countries and their satellites will not pass. We consider the demands contained in the so-called declaration from that meeting to be demands for the introduction and legalization of apartheid in half of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and therefore we will be their opponents forever.

We in the Democratic Front will never agree to surrender in peace what was preserved in war, and the organizers of the so-called assembly should know that war goals can only be achieved by war means. We consider all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at every step, to be the same and equal, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or national beliefs.

Declaring entire groups of Bosnians and Herzegovinians of different faiths and ethnic affiliations as enemies, as Dragan Čović and Božo Ljubić are doing, and with a strategy of direct confrontation with them - Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats who think differently from them, and especially those who primarily feel like Bosnians and Herzegovinians - has no future and will end in complete collapse.

The Democratic Front remains eternally committed to the values of ZAVNOBiH, and therefore we once again call on parties of the left to fight together against the values in the name of which hundreds of thousands of citizens of this country were expelled, and tens of thousands killed. When the opponents of a common and one Bosnia and Herzegovina so clearly articulate their intention to dismember it, we have no choice but to stand even more firmly and resolutely in its defense.

Finally, the statement by the president of HDZ RH represents a harbinger of the Republic of Croatia's return to the politics of the nineties and places him alongside the far-right within the European Union, led by the National Front and Jobbik. A potential victory for Karamarko's HDZ in the elections in RH would have extremely negative consequences for the EU integration of BiH and Serbia, and we hope that the EU Commission and member states will react to prevent such a development, it was announced from the Democratic Front.
