Family rule from SDA is transferring to the state: After Bakir, logically, comes Sebija

Director of UKCS Dr. Sebija Izetbegović is slowly but surely moving from the medical to the political arena.

Once in the shadow of her husband Bakir Izetbegović, in the past year she has advanced so much, regardless of whether it's party or state gatherings, she always sits in the front row next to her "better half," writes the Patria News Agency.

For example, at the SDA and SBB rally in Jajce, she sat between President Bakir Izetbegović and Vice President of the FBiH Melika Mahmutbegović. If the "first lady" is indeed using this extensively at events where Izetbegović is invited as a member of the BiH Presidency, why is she suddenly sitting in the front row at party rallies? Has she advanced in the party hierarchy?

Will the information circulating in SDA circles these days prove true, that Dr. Izetbegović lobbied the Cantonal Board of SDA Sarajevo to nominate her for membership in the party's Presidency?

For everything she does, as Bakir Izetbegović himself said in a TV interview, his wife, a "successful manager with good connections," has his support.

Dr. Sebija Izetbegović was not satisfied with the director position, which her husband of course secured for her, nor with the fact that she pulls all the strings in healthcare in Sarajevo Canton, with the responsible minister Zilha Ademaj blindly carrying out all her orders.

It's not enough for her that she is the president of the SDA Health Council, and a few months ago she started acting offensively, attending SDA Council sessions chaired by Selmo Cikotić, who yields the chair to the "mistress.".

Since everything is not enough, she has decided to attend meetings of coalition partners SDA, SBB, and HDZ BiH, who are discussing the implementation of important economic reforms, political topics, European issues, and NATO.

In what capacity was she at the meeting in the BiH Presidency building yesterday? She and the director of the University Hospital in Mostar were invited to the coalition meeting.

Shouldn't the responsible federal and cantonal ministers be discussing healthcare at a meeting convened by the leaders of SBB, SDA, and HDZ BiH, Fahrudin Radončić, Bakir Izetbegović, and Dragan Čović?

Directors of clinical centers are merely operatives in the field. Work reports are adopted by assemblies, i.e., parliaments, and ministers are responsible for creating policy in the healthcare sector and reform processes, with the help of experts, of course.

Dr. Sebija Izetbegović's presence at coalition talks now confirms media reports that she is the one who truly decides everything.

Therefore, without her approval, Izetbegović (husband) would not have entered into a coalition with SBB. A logical conclusion.

Without her approval, there are no appointments of SDA cadres to certain positions, from prime ministerial to directorial. Another logical conclusion.

Everyone blindly obeys her because her husband enabled her to have the final say and do as she pleases, regardless of whether she knows it or whether it will produce harmful consequences not only for the SDA party but now also for the state.

Dr. Sebija Izetbegović's presence at political meetings only shows the brutality of the political-family rule that she and her husband are demonstrating. They treat the SDA, especially Dr. Izetbegović, as if it were her property.

And no one dares to say a word. What will happen in SDA when she becomes a member of the party's Presidency? She will have to be nominated, and this is being spoken about more and more loudly, for membership in the BiH Presidency in the 2018 elections.

And that is logical. Because, besides privatizing SDA with a few individuals, she and her husband treat the position of the collective head of state as if it were hereditary. And who else could sit in it instead of Bakir. A successful manager with strong connections.
